EditorGeneral News, Los Cabos

Los Cabos Drumsticks are a Canadian company located in the province of New Brunswick on the country’s east coast.   founders Larry and Gillian Guay chose the name Los Cabos (the cape) as a way to reflect both the unique qualities of their home province and the wide world of music to which their products appeal.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

While 2005 saw the initial dowels lathed to become the world’s first Los Cabos Drumsticks, a long history of woodworking preceded their entrance into the world of music.  For many years previous, Larry and Gillian operated a wood turning business, turning legs for tables and chairs until a chance one-time contract opened their eyes to the exciting and ever-changing world that is the music industry.

Making a good pair of sticks begins by selecting the best wood possible. Los Cabos manufacture many different models of sticks using Canadian maple and American hickory. As well as using ‘best in the business’ maple and hickory from the southern USA renowned the world over as the top choice for stick manufacturing, Los cabos also manufacture sticks with red hickory. red Hickory comes from the heart of the tree, making it stronger and more durable for those who need a bit “more” from their sticks.

Los Cabos use only the finest grades of wood, and every dowel is hand inspected to ensure that the grain is straight and free from any defects. Only then does it go to be lathed into a Los Cabos Drumstick. With nearly two dozen models to choose from, Los Cabos Drumsticks offers something for every drummer.
