Back in 1999, somewhere in the heart of Germany at a place called Voerde on the Lower Rhine, Burkhard Lehle began a quiet revolution. A guitarist and technology student from an early age, Lehle’s passion for his two favourite things led to the production of a range of foot switches that made he life of guitarists both in the studio and on stage that little bit easier.

lehle-little-dualWhilst some are happy to simply plug straight into an amp and get going, those with a more sophisticated set up, perhaps featuring a number of pedals, or the need to switch between different amps at different stages of a set or song long had a problem. Whilst a complicated rig has obvious sound potential, it also has its down side – mainly that of switching, where clarity of sound can be lost and clicking noises get in the way of hassle free tone.

Having set up a workshop after finishing his studies (where naturally enough music and physics were top of the agenda), Lehle found that many of his customers were looking for the same thing - a sturdy, noiseless switching unit that would allow them to hop between different settings and rigs without compromising the overall sound or interrupting it with erroneous clicking and buzzing noise.

3at1-sgosTaking the idea and running with it, Lehle is now recognised as the market leader in its field, providing road-hardy, seamless switching for musicians looking for the extra edge. Gold plated relays, noiseless and responsive buttons, and an array of options to suit the simplest to the most complex guitarists rig have helped make Lehle the first choice in switching for guitarists that include the likes of Joe Satriani, Lenny Kravitz and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry. Sometimes it’s the simplest solutions that provide the biggest difference.
