Since the launch of the Performance capo in 2004 G7th have gone from strength to strength as a company, with their designs lauded for innovation in capo design. In 2009, the Company even won the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise and the founders were invited to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen! Of course this design also translates into products that musicians want to use, and G7th capos have been spotted on the necks of guitars played by the likes of Richard Thompson, Bryan Adams, KT Tunstall, Marcus Mumford, Roger McGuinn and Catfish and the Bottlemen. Check out the current G7th range below:
The G7th Performance 2 Capo
In 2004, The Performance Capo’s revolutionary new mechanism set a new standard in capo design, allowing ultra-precise placement and clamping, without pulling the strings of your instrument out of tune. The capo is was easily squeezed into place with one hand, and released using the lever on the back.
Players loved the way that it kept the guitar in tune, but wanted it to be smaller and lighter, without compromising the tone. All that has been impossible until now, with the introduction of the compact and graceful new Performance 2- the ultimate capo experience. Not only has it been made slimmer and lighter, but G7th have also reversed its patented clutch mechanism, which gives it a lightning fast squeeze-on, squeeze-off action. It has also been designed to store behind the nut or on the peghead when not in use.
The G7th Performance 2. Smaller – Faster – Lighter and more refined in every way. SSP £29.95
The G7th Newport Capo
With its light weight and low profile, the G7th Newport allows for fast, accurate capoing with fine tune adjustment – in position – on the fretboard of your instrument.
An advancement on existing designs, the Newport’s refined adjustment means that only the right amount of pressure needs be applied to clamp the strings – dramatically improving tuning problems and without the loss of sustain associated with the thick rubber of other capos
Newport Capos are available in 6 different models: 6 and 12 string guitar, classical, banjo, and even two partial capos for 3 and 5 strings! £24.95
The Nashville Capo
The Nashville Capo is for really fast changes on stage. Easily applied and adjusted with one hand, its spring-loaded design is equally at home on acoustic or electric guitars, and can be conveniently ‘parked’ on the headstock when not in use.
Compared with other spring capos, the Nashville’s unique pivot point – behind the guitar neck, rather than to the side – and softer spring make it much more comfortable to use, and help to eliminate tuning problems.
Available in silver, black or gold plated finish, SSP from £19.95 (Gold model pictured £29.95)
