This collection of fine Custom Shop built guitars has been inspired by the much coveted pre-war ‘Golden Era’ classics that were made at the old C.F. Martin factory in North Street, downtown Nazareth during the 1930’s.

North Street Edition guitars are not replicas but a serious ‘nod’ to guitars built during that period, not only visually, but more importantly tonally, thanks to the essential classic features of Adirondack (aka Red) Spruce tops and Golden Era X-bracing, both of which are fundamental to the much-prized tone of the originals.

With the help of the Martin Custom Shop team, we have combined these all-important specifications with modern-day appointments like an adjustable truss rod and low-profile neck.

Crafted exclusively for the UK and Ireland, these C.F. Martin Custom Shop built guitars must be seen and heard.

This stiffer top wood delivers a strong fundamental with vibrant sustain. With more dynamics than Sitka spruce, Adirondack spruce (Picea Rubens) offers enhanced volume & can be driven hard without loss of clarity.
Golden Era X-bracing
Top braces are delicately hand shaped with enhanced scalloping for superior resonance
Herringbone Top Inlay for Rosewood Models
This fine & delicate inlay choice was the norm in the 1930’s until wartime restrictions made the material unavailable. It was not used again by Martin in regular production until the mid 1970’s.

For the North Street Edition guitars, Martin have combined the finest available tonewoods reserved used exclusively for Custom Shop models, with meticulous hand-craftsmanship to pay homage to the coveted sound and aesthetic of the ‘Golden Era’ with modern playability and functionality.

CASE CANDY

Each C.F. Martin Custom Shop guitar is supplied to UK and Irish dealers with an exclusive ‘Case Candy’ package.

Handcrafted in Scotland, a high quality, tooled and embossed leather documents folder contains ownership documents, adding value to the instrument and enhancing the Custom Shop experience.

The serial number is presented on luxurious, heavyweight letterpress card embossed with gold leaf, while the full Custom Shop spec is provided on branded craft paper.
