Another year, another fantastic London Drum Show for us here at Westside!
Once again the Olympia in London was taken over by a sea of 4 way independent limbs and the sound of crashing cymbals and percussion.
We were there in full effect with Sabian, Drum Workshop, PDP, Gon Bops Percussion and Los Cabos Drumsticks. The phenomenally priced new Design Series lacquer finish kit from Drum Workshop were a big hit with punters, and the ever popular Sabian Cymbal Vote prototype display was in it’s perfect setting, hundreds of players approached the stand to have their shot and ‘Listen Decide, and Vote’ for their favourite of the 12 cymbals.
Los Cabos Drumsticks are the newest addition to our drum and percussion brand portfolio, and players young
(above) and old took to the stand to try out Los Cabos Drumsticks for themselves, at full volume, with their long lasting Red Hickory sticks receiving many plaudits.
As usual there was a superb showing of Sabian artist at the show, with many visiting the stand. Karl Brazil, Ralph Salmins, Simon Lea and Gareth Brown:
Sabian artist also dominated much of the live performance stages …monster kit aficionado and drumming octopus Terry Bozzio opened the whole show’s proceedings on the Saturday and drumming legend and longtime SABIAN innovator Dave Weckl closing the show to a packed house auditorium on the Sunday.
In between there was the hyperactive ball of energy that was Robin Guy’s masterclass in Mike Dolbear’s room focusing on how to survive as a working drummer, delivered with a flurry of drums and a thousand words a minute, and the legendary Jojo Mayer who brought his finished his UK drum clinic tour at the show.
Westside have been massively behind the London Drum Show since its inception and every year we try and raise our game to give the best showing for all our fantastic brands, and every year we get a bigger and better response. All we can say is thank you for coming along and making it so fantastic for us each year!
