Fancy a bit of tution by one of the UK's leading 'slap groove' guitarists? Chris Woods will be bringing his distinctive percussive style to the Westside MI showroom on May the 19th, to perform instore and then later hold an intimate workshop giving an insight into how he developed his unique style of playing.

Both the Saturday in store performance and workshop are free to attend, The performance will be situated on the showroom floor starting at 2pm, and the workshop in a more private area down stairs from 3.30pm. Chris is a staunch Martin Guitar player, coaxing a plethora of sounds from his small bodied 000X1, and uses Elixir strings for their longevity of brightness and tone.

Acoustic Guitar Magazine  has said of Woods: 'Chris Woods has taken ‘string slapping’ into another dimension of percussive effects on acoustic guitar by combining elements of finger tapping, rapid drumming on the belly and lower bout of the guitar with ‘normal’ finger picking resulting in a tour de force of original technique’.
